Ear to the Ground Services

Our multimedia products have been used to integrate public voice into planning processes, educate people about sustainability, showcase public visions, celebrate community history, and encourage people to actively embrace sustainable living. We have developed a unique 7-step collaborative video production process that fosters innovation and creativity, ensuring a high degree of participation, transparency, and quality.

Communications videos educate and inform residents. These videos are posted online, viewed at public meetings, used within campaigns and distributed on DVD. Communications videos creatively and concisely promote a project or organization, encouraging citizens to get involved and learn more. Communications videos can range from an overview of planning processes and events to promoting organizations and values.

Public Engagement

Public Engagement plays a crucial role in planning processes by soliciting public involvement with a wide variety of issues. Using our visualization tools, citizens come to a better understanding of how they can become engaged and take action in decisions affecting their communities. Citizens collaborate to produce outputs that reflect their values and aspirations.

Research & Teaching

Research and Teaching advances planning practice.  Through research grants, publication, graduate level teaching and presentations Ear to the Ground Planning is actively involved in advancing the application of video as a planning tool with its affiliation with the University of British Columbia’s School of Community and Regional Planning.
