Examining the use of Multi-Media and 3-D Visualization Technology in Communicating High Density Hous

CLIENT: Hampton Research Fund

Ear to the Ground is partnering with Professor Maged Senbel from the University of British Columbia's (UBC) School of Community and Regional Planning on a multi-year Hampton research project that examines the viability of video as a tool for fostering community dialogue around increased neighborhood density. In collaboration with UBC planning students, EGP is producing 4 videos for community screenings in the Marpole area of Vancouver.

Ear to the Ground is working with UBC students to produce videos that explore the topics of resiliency, healthy communities, and reactions to densification. Marpole residents and City of Vancouver planners were asked to evaluate the effectiveness of the films in communicating on density. Additionally, Ear to the Ground is collaborating with students to produce two films that give Marpole residents a behind the scenes look at the making of the films and a 3-D model.
